WoW Contact Thread v4.0 - Burning Crusade Edition!!
Yes, it finally come! The Burning Crusade! The horny Draenei and oh-so-sexy Blood Elves are ready to kick some demon ass in Outland!!
The 1st Discussion thread is here. Now closed due to database issues or something. The 2nd discussion thread is here!. This too has been closed - we clearly cry too much. The 3rd discussion thread is here. Closed now, 500 pages is about the limit we go to. The 4th discussion thread is here Cry about Warlocks, MS Warriors, Vashj/Kael cockblocks and the upcoming expansion - closed due to us hitting 500 pages again! Discussion Thread No.5! This one will probably last until the expansion is released. Updates (hopefully) come once a week, usually during maintanence. Don't worry if your info isn't updated straight away though - this thread has been going strong for nearly 2.5 years! (forget the wiki experiment) If you wanna be cool and awesome like me, try and use the layout I've used here. It'll help make my job a lot easier. Thanks!! Extra information like CTProfiles/Thott profiles/talent trees (if you're bored)/etc is welcome to be posted. I won't post, however, whether or not you've got a TF/Atiesh/C.Ashbringer or single tidbits like that. Include a full link, or nothing at all. If you're a Guild Master/officer that can invite, you can mention that as well. Small note: As you can see, I've changed some of the bolding on some entries (usually new ones). I'm just trying to improve the layout and look of the post - I think bolding the headers, rather than character information looks better. I'll get around to updating the old information one day. The Armoury (spelled correctly!) Blizzard's super slow CTProfiles ripoff has made it to the beta stage. You can include links to this as well. Update: It's much better now (and CTProfiles is outta date). Post away!! - I will remake this thread when WotLK comes out later this year. (this post will be updated with more information should I feel the need for it to be known  )

Blackrock (PvP)
One of the release servers, and now a very mature (but very full) realm. This server became the unofficial Aussie realm on release, and has the highest percentage of Aussie players on it (excluding the Oceania realms). The queues and instability of past are now very uncommon (Sunday afternoon excepted) - however, if you're starting a new character, and don't have a good reason (like friends on this server), I'd recommend (at least) a medium population realm elsewhere - Blackrock's unofficial motto is "BR IS FULL, GTFO". Proudmoore (PvE) and Spinebreaker (PvP).
Also release servers. Proudmoore was designated the unofficial Aussie PvE realm on release, and Spinebreaker became the "2nd choice" for PvP'ers after Blackrock became very full and very laggy. Both are pretty full as well. Update: I dunno about the status of these 2 realms anymore. Quote:

Assorted Servers - part 1!!
This post is for the "other" servers - where only 1 or 2 OCAU'ers are located on. I don't know the status of many of these realms - look in the in-game server list for more information. Quote:

Oceania Realms - Part 1!!
After much whining and crying on the WoW forums by Australian players, Blizzard finally decided to make a set of Oceania servers. This thread has the first Oceania realms that were released - and as such they're very full. Use the other Oceania realms that are new/low-medium population!! Remember: While these servers are marked as Oceania, they are NOT located in Australia or anywhere in the Oceania geographical location. They are located in the exact same datacenter as the other servers - which is all the way in California, Irvine (or wherever Blizz has their servers). This means that whatever your pings are to non-Oceanic servers will be exactly the same on the Oceanic servers. The only difference is that the in-game clock is set to GMT +10 (or something close), rather than GMT -8 (or something close). Even though it's marked as Oceania, you'll still find some American guilds/players on the server, but by all accounts the majority is well and truly Australian. Quote:

This post is for the second set of Oceanic realms that were released - Blizz quickly released that 2 or 3 servers weren't enough. Same notes and infomation from the previous post applies to this post as well - only that the population is slightly smaller (...probably). Quote:

Oceania Realms - Part 3!!
Most OCAU WoW players nowadays seem to moving towards the Oceanic realms, and this is doubly the case now that Blizzard have the (finally) implemented a Paid Character Transfer service. Again, same info will apply to these servers as the previous posts. Quote:

And one last post for our overseas friends and any leftovers that find their way into the thread. I've got no idea on the population/performance of these overseas realms, and you'll need to get a copy of WoW which is localised to a certain language to play on foreign servers. PM whoever is on the server for more information!!
