I'm glad I never got one of those. Do people get their Arcade/Saved games back?

Well considering the people that got faulty HDDs couldn't even boot into the dashboard there was no problem with that. But, if you had managed to buy Arcarde games you can always redownload them, games are locked to the owner and the console, not the HDD.

That's true, but if you want to play the non-demo version you have to be online at the time.

Only if your whole console was replaced. If only ur HDD was replaced you'd be able to redownload and play offline as your Console ID wouldn't have changed.

Yes, but they are recalling the entire package I believe (well, as far as I can tell from that link).

you can always just ring M$ and get them to refund you the bought games if you got a replaced new console that was not the one you bought the games with.

Yeah but the problem was the bastards wouldn't boot because of the dead HDD. So I highly doubt anyone would've even gotten to the downloading stage.

From what I've heard it is a massive PITA to do this. I've heard stories where they make u create a new gamertag and add the points to that. And screw that...bye bye gamerscore, bye bye savegames.

Happened to me. I had to create a new gamertag to get the points refunded as they didn't want to accidentally overwrite whatever points I had left on the original gamertag.

Thought occurred to me a day or so later to ask if he could just add whatever was on my gamertag to the refund amount and then just re-issue that appended amount back to the gamertag.... not sure if they would go for that option though.

Doesn't matter, they refunded to a new gamertag (which locked the downloads to the console) and I just bought new games and continued to play them with my original gamertag.

What are the chances of having these 360 issues fixed for the Halo console edition release? They look very... nice.. My original Xbox is a halo edition one too, so..
