I would just buy a new tank. The tank is the cheapest bit of kit you buy anyway. I would never trust a tank that I made myself. But if you have glaziers skills, then go for it...

Problem is around here no-one will custom build a tank.

If I buy a new tank, its going to be a 4' tank. That means new light and new filter - bit of a PITA when I just got those two items for my little 2'

You could seriously just buy a trading post/ebay 2ft tank for less effort than it is to do that aye =/

Thoughts ? Ideas ?
If you can effectively re-cut the tank so it's stable then it'll work well, the 2213 should cope if it's a heavily planted tank as the plants will do some of the filtering for you.

Couldn't be bothered calculating this but would 180L be close to 50 (47?) gallons yeah? You might struggle to visually light the bottom of your tank well with your current lighting and the extra depth, although with 6400 bulbs your plants will still grow. I'm not sure about though so you'd have to test it.
