Default Thermaltake Green Cold Cathode Light Kit , want to extend wires

hi scene , i have one of these and want to extend the wires from the Light to the Controller they dont meet my demands theyre too short. What type/gauge wire do i need to do the job ? im looking to extend the wires to about 2metres

any info helps

DO NOT extend the wires on the cold cathode side, They are high voltage.

You can connect them on the DC side, (from the molex and switch)
I usualy just use speaker wire as it already comes in pairs for extending stuff.

great tips alvarez i will do that , i might look around tho for some Power Cable on a reel for AC / DC applications i dont have any Speaker Cable atm.

i found out i need 18AWG wire according to the small print on the cable.

now to find my previous Hookup Wire supplier

18awg does seem to be the standard for computer wiring unfortunately jaycar dont stock

thats brilliant i didnt know they existed , its a tad short tho i definitely need 2.5m i just recalculated.

the wires to the Molex connectors to the other Molex is 18AWG , the smaller wires from the Molex to the Controller are 24AWG just wanted to clear that up.

i checked Jaycar and Altronics , Jaycar not much range and Altronics sell 100m a roll from memory. I have bought from Emtel Electronics on eBay (ie Modchip wire) and they have 24AWG stock i just checked.

im pretty much happy with everything and ready to roll
