It means you cannot run the board @ 166fsb without overclocking your PCI/AGP bus

Hmmm... Thats weird my Gigabyte GA-7VRXP has performed absolutely A1 since they day I bought it! Not a single problem. I have done a little FSB oveclocking (XP-1800) just for the fun of it and 150FSB seemed fine although I set it back to standard for general use. If I wanted more power I woud buy the XP2200

Toms hardware gave it the top award. Anandtech gave it the bronze award. Countless other sites have raved about it and it is great value for money (I bought it in Singapore before it was released here and saved $50 to boot).

I have ABIT boards in 2 other of my computers and they have given me their fair share of trouble. Any board thet needs the FAQ's the ABIT's do just to keep them running can't be too good!
(www.viahardware,com) The Abit KT7 FAQ stretches for miles!!!

yes there are alot of 'good' and excellent GA-7VRX(P) mobo's out there,

in fact i have one now, its tops!

only took 4 to get one of this standard

slug, you have been lucky to get a good one first go,

but i still wouldnt recommend this board(s)

especially to a firs timer, the poor guy would go bald pulling his hair out, if he got one of the duds (and thats a pretty good 'if')

HeeHee! Lucky I was lucky because Singapore is a bit far to travel just to do an exchange

The trouble is that sometimes people stick crap on their motherboard and blame the motherboard. Knowing some techs that deal with this stuff, often they say, "yep we will swap it over" and then repack it - sell it to the next dude who most times will plug some slightly different components into it and they are happy for life. They say it is common that some batches will have some variation in their tolerances that is enough to play up in some configurations and not others. I use premium stuff in my computers and I think that tends to make a difference.

I work for a hospital that for years has used Gigabyte motherboards in their computers. We have roughly 600 computers on site and I must say that they are very reliable. I know this does not relate to overclocking at all BUT it does say something about build quality and reliabilty. Anything that gives us trouble does not stay around for long

I don't know shit about overclocking, but I heard that it is possible to get 5 and 6 dividers on these motherboards (but the option is hidden or something). Check in www.amdmb.com in the Gigabyte mobo forums, thats where I saw the sticky explaining it.

This is the thread. It requires modding of the board to get the 5/6 dividers. I haven't read the whole thread so sorry if this is a false alarm and it doesn't work.

yeah i started reading that thread all excitted, then by the end of it, disappointed,
numerous attempts to work that removed dip switch, but to no avail.

it appears the whole circuitry for it has been removed and its just a pretty, teasing picture now

Sorry for the false-alarm then.
I was thinking of getting one of these rev 2.0 boards, I don't do an o/c tho so it prob won't affect me.
