Default Burmese kitten - more nervous with visitors than it was

Family member has a burmese male kitten. Its about 18 weeks old - so only been been 'home' for 2 months.

Anyway, it used to be very happy go lucky with visitors. Happy to play and chase. But in the last 2 weeks its got very nervous. Will hide when visitors come - sometimes will come out, mostly not.

Is this a phase its going thru, or is this its adult personality forming ? Just wondering if anyone has any experiences.

TIA.

No. Someone came to do a few jobs round the house - made a bit of noise with drills etc, but nothing too bad. Didn't upset the older cat.

noise still could have spooked it... it IS a lil young thing

Try having some friends around, but get them to be a bit quieter than normal. Slowly Draw the kitten out with toys n interesting things... get it comfortable with people again.

Yep, thats what we'll do. Funny thing is, even if its got comfortable with new people, if it goes off and has a short nap it gets all nervous again. Like its never met the guests.

iirc something about cats having 5 minute memories.

Cats always seam nervous and hide from me the first time they see me, so I'm usually patting them gently in a corner, do that maybe 5-10 times and eventually when they see me they aren't worried.

So strange.
