Default HTCP and hdcp?

Quote:
HTPC ?
I had alook at this GA-MA78GM-S2H (rev.1.1) $94
AMD Athlon™ 64 LE-1600 2200MHz Socket AM2 45W $43 how doesthis cpu compare to a Sempron 3200+ that I have seen recomended ?
generic RAM $45 Total $182 + post
it would be the "ducks guts" for a HTPC ?

But!! it has HDCP - I know its need for HD

My issue is , I only have a crt tv with s-video in at best ,can I get an adapter that will work .. I know I can not have HD, but will I get DVDs and xvids to work
and what about Tvcards do you need HDCP working for to show HDTV on the tv? (I know it will be cruched down to fit )

I will be running win XP
I tried this in an other section with no response so I'll try here
I want to setup a HTCP as cheap as possible and to keep as long as possible.

so with hdcp , is it that the video card works normally if the screen is not hdcp - it just won't display HD (eg. blue-ray)?
does that include HD from a HDTV card not working?

I can't seem to find any converter adapter to use - so I might have to get a asus radeon 3450 and setup hybrid crossfirex - that has tvout...
I wonder are there any good mobo's with equivalent sound and no video onboard I could use the asus radeon 3450 by itself...for ~$60-70

It won't display some copy-protected HD video (like Blu-ray). It'll be fine for HD TV from a TV tuner.

The HD 3450 would be a fine option. Onboard video won't hurt; as you've said, it means that you can run Hybrid CrossFire for somewhat better performance.

Finally: one post has been deleted from this thread already. There are ways around the Blu-ray copy protection, but they cannot be discussed on OCAU.

HDCP signals only apply to HDMI. You will be using svideo so you can ignore all that

Even if you want to play HDCP content on a non HDCP compliant tv in HD you can use component cables.

Ok , I'll go with this then :
mobo GA-MA78GM-S2H (rev.1.1) or the new 1 -carn't remember what it was atm ... probly the old one because it'll be cheaper
asus radeon 3450 probably the 256mb version though
some generic ram - 2GBs
AMD Athlon™ 64 LE-1600 2200MHz Socket AM2 45W - will this be enough cpu?

I will to use gear I already have for the rest - my budget is the absolute lowest possible cost
so the only other thing is , I want use my existing antec true 550W 20pin PSU with a 20 - 24 pin adapter - would that be.. ok ? with these new mobos ..
