Even though I only have a 5.1 setup, when I play a truHD movie from a HDDVD through optical (not HDMI), I can really tell the difference. Is that only cause it's an uncompressed signal, rather then the PCM version?

So do you know if you can get the blu-ray offer with them?Someone mentioned that jb hifi had them for sale for $1991 (Parents wanted a tv) but they didn't make up their mind quick enough and the sale ended. I just happened to go to jb hifi yesterday pick up scrubs seasons 7 and they had it still for sale for $1991, btw series 5 was $2300 on special (weird!). I asked the bloke a few questions, how much is delivery? Extended warranty? I go if i was to grab all that today what can you do for me? I didn't expect much due to the fact I thought the tv was near cost. He goes delivery $79 and for an extra 3 years warranty $279 i go ok, then he goes so ill drop $100 off the tv so that will make the warranty $179, so thats $2258. I go what about an even $2200? He goes yeah no worries. Sold, though not going to come in until late Jan. |

Here's my interim HT setup:
![]() TEAC 37" 1080p LCD TV Onkyo .. reciever Subwoofer is hiding behind the couch and the cat post (yes with the cat bed on it, start a movie up, the cat soon moves!) some.. pioneer? speakers wharfdale centre speaker from ... somewhere some rears also from .. somewhere over all though, works well and sounds good HTPC is a 2.4Ghz core2 which plays 1080p h264 over hdmi to the TV and spdif to the amp. (storage and mythtv server is all remote) amp does hdmi switching, but not hdmi audio the blue network cable you can see is not actually used, I need to move it, because I've now replaced it with a beigey cable that doesn't stand out like dogs balls (it goes up onto some cupboards and then along the roof for a bit before going upstairs to the study where the server is) When we build (2 years or so) I'll do a proper HT Room and go crazy but this does very nicely for now |

OK, here's mine, just finished setting it up yesterday, but still have more work to do calibrating the Audyssey MultEQ.

Can anyone recommend a good quality beanbag for HT use?
![]() I remember someone on OCAU reviewing these ones that don't use polystyrene balls, but used foam (the type found in couches) so you would never have to replace the insides. I'll have to get a photo of the HT setup today. 42" Toshiba LCD TV Yamaha RX-V663B Panasonic DMP-BD35 HTPC PS3 2x Krix KDX-M (mains) 1x Krix KDX-C (centre) 2x Krix Equinox V2 (rears) 1x Krix Seismix 3 (sub - to be bought) Last edited by telefragd; 1st January 2009 at 1:23 PM. |

One of the ultimate bean bags would have to be a LoveSac.
These are used in the Hoyts Half Pipe cinemas (there is one in Melbourne Central, assume there are others). They indeed use compressed foam rather than beans to fill them up. Its actually a very sound business, furniture companies sell/give them the off cuts as they make chairs and couches, they then put these in giant sacs and sell them at rather high prices ![]() Doesn't mean I don't want one still.....They aren't the most practical things however, so I went with a hand me down Ikea couch instead

Hi Guys,
I've recently setup my bedroom for an "on the cheap" home theatre. TV: Panasonic 42" TH-42PX7A Wallmounted Receiver: Yamaha 361B Speakers: 1 x NS6900B Main Speaker Pair 1 x NS7900B Surround Speaker Pack 1 x YSTSW030B Subwoofer Speaker & Amp set was purchased from http://www.excelhifi.com.au/prod556.htm All hooked up to my PC via VGA & coax out - Love it for watching movies etc from my bed, I couldn't ask for more for what I paid for it. I'm very happy. On to the pics of my setup, apologies for the crappy quality & editing. Click to view full size! Click to view full size! Click to view full size!
