me and someguy just had a really awersom game of TA
basically it was on the barrier reef map (2 islands one in the top left the other bottom right) i had the 500 unit patch for extra units, we agreed to a 30 mins "build" time where no one attacked so we could build but due to the fact their was not to much metal on the map we extended the build time to 60 mins (on +10 it was really about 30 mins in real time), we were both arm so we had very very even tech, i primarily built hawks (and alot of them) and made plenty of level one construction aircraft, i asumed this game was going to be a mass air battle, and i couldnt off been more wrong, ill explain later, i built a "ring" of flanker’s and a few heavy laser towers around the top half of my island, i also assumed a little sea present so i built 4 level 2 building platforms witch built defenders (so glad i didn’t build millenniums) and made some lightish anti torpedoes and some light flouting heavy laser towers, witch were there, the main problem on this map was metal so i ended up using my com and a level 2 tech plane just to build fusion power plants and moho energy - metal converters ok after all that building i was very surprised at a huge sub/ship/hovercraft attack, but i was able to cover my ass with my hawks and killed off nearly all his ships + hovercrafts but his subs were a problem as a group my ships that got close basically instantaneously got killed so i let him attack me, big mistake, with the defenders + torpedo launchers were able to kill him, also a rush of submersible tanks but my hawks just sat their till they surfaced and they got owned, releasing his new tactic of sea based attack, i quickly built some more heavy laser towers to guard, i also though he had no air defence because of his sea attacks, i was extremely wrong and basically 50 hawks got killed, very stupid move on my part, as he already had a rush of hovercrafts ad skimmers he also was able to use transporters to land his commander and about 30 kbots on the bottom half of my island witch i had no aircraft to cover and i had to leave him, within about 5 minutes he had built another kbot lab on my side and to my very surprise a big bertha, by this stage i had 25 hawks built and quickly rushed his commander and after a few big bertha shos i killed his commander his big bertha and basically everything else he had built on my side, at this stage i was shitting myself as he still had quite a few tanks/kbots on my island and i swear to god those heavy laser tower are worth every penny a few of them held of a good 60 tanks from getting into my base and ending the game, at this point i pulled a lot of level 1 tech aircraft that were building hawks to build/spam level 2 heavy laser towers all over the island witch basically stalemated the game, as i had so much defence, basically i had 3 levels of flakers and 4 layers of heavy laser towers around my base, plus the random spam of heavy laser towers around the areas witch i didnt control, i did however have a bit of navy and continued building it to try and cover haover/sub attacks for about 30 mins someguy continued to put wave after wave of hovercraft and sub/ship battles, with the occasional hawks/brawler attack with were easily taken care off by flankers, someguy there everything he had at me and made hardly a scratch as i had alot of defence (around 250-330 of my 500 units were defnece towers) after the game stalled kinda since i was attacking i sent in all my navy witch had been building slowly over the duration of the game and never really used and someguy had built alot of land based defence but hardly any anti-sub, my subs were able to kill ALL his water based defence/offence/building platforms and my ships were able to do some damage to someguy's land defence, i then sent in 50 hawks an was able to take out 3 or 4 fusion reactors witch crippled his energy production, someguy then started building torpedo plains and sonar plains to kill all my subs that were sitting off his coast and not allowing him to build and ships at this point someguy had to unfortunately go to bed, and we called the game a draw, but i thought i had the upper hand and had a really good chance with winning the game as i had 200+ hawks ready to kill off his aircraft plants and his fusion plants, but didn’t get the chance, in the end i had over 1500 kills and thus won on points, but the game was called a draw next match is tomorrow if anyone is interested i hope it will be even as half as close as this last game, also we need to change the unit limit to 5000 as we hit the 500 unit limit pretty quick with all defence we had built, a great game all in all |
