I was thinking about making one also. Hopefully it will be stickied

You may also want to add IE Hyjacker to the Spyware section. I'll edit with a link for it shortly.

Spyware Blaster:
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

new version of Spyware Blaster supports firefox..even though the only spyware you get in firefox is ad cookies, so i'll add firefox to my post
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

Also here is a good in-depth article on spyware. Explains what it is, how to identify it and how to remove it.

We were getting a few too many stickies IMO, so I've made a "sticky collective" so to speak, this thread is in it.

The older versions of Tiny & Kerio PF (~2.1.5) are free, and are far superior to the current versions imho.

http://www.321download.com/LastFreew...keriopf215.zip is a link to Kerio v2.1.5

The two seem to be pretty much the same around that version, and it seems that v2.1.5 of Kerio was just v2.1.5 of Tiny with a few extras.

Enjoy

This is for SpyHunter. It picked up things XP AntiSpy and AdAware didn't even know about.

Default Sophos for FREE

This is not a product plug, but if your company use's Sophos Anti-Virus at work (we are No 3 in the Australia corporate market, higher in the education sector) then you can use the full version of Sophos at home FOR FREE.

It's up to your Sysadmin to arrange (host) updates but every corporate licence sold includes free home use for all employees as standard. Most Sysadmins are wary of telling staff this as they don't want the hassle.

pest patrol is one of the best spyware scanners i've seen.

the free version only allows scanning, no removal.

they also have a "pest encyclopedia". much like the symantec security alerts page.
it gives info on various spyware/malware and quite often includes manual removal instructions.

Default AV Response

Again, not a product plug, but with the number of new licences we sign a week (10-60/week) of corporates a week, i Can't believe there are not more people using Sophos at home.

Please understand I work for them but truly in my heart I can't recommend a better product for home use (assuming frequent updates) than Sophos. If your Company uses Sophos ask your IT admin and save yourself $60 or so a year.

Personally I'm a gamer, I run COD, BF1042, BF-V, CS and others. If your PC is SLOW due to anti-virus then try Spohos, we use check sum scans as well as file scans to reduce system impact.

NOT A SALES PLUG!!!!!!!

If any Systems admin wants to try Sophos for any product (anti-virus, anti-spam (linux or Exchange), contact me and I will provide a full working version (time limited) to test for NO COMITMENT.

NOT A SALES PLUG!!!!!!!

If you are a XXX anti-virus fan, no problems at all, but if you want to try something different, feel free to contact me.

CWShredder Webpage

CWShredder.exe direct download

CWShredder:

Quote:
A small utility for removing CoolWebSearch (aka CoolWwwSearch, YouFindAll, White-Pages.ws and a dozen other names). Spybot S&D and Ad-aware tend to forget essential parts of the hijack, so until they update, you can use this to completely remove the hijack. This program is updated to remove the new variants once they come out.

Spy Sweeper:
http://www.webroot.com/wb/products/s...?rc=266&ac=559

By far the best Spyware removal tool out there... I'd recommend this program installed with Ad-Aware as well.. These two programs together work wonders.
