Default OCAU 3dMark2001 Team

Who up for it? Wont go into details nowas Im bout to go bed but I rekon we have some beats here that would give the Icrontic team a run and others...

Couple of questions have popped up. So heres some answers...

**Yes you can use any card whether its RADEON or GeForce based.
**Yes you have to sign up at the Orb upon submitting a reult online.
**Yes you must display a compare link when reporting your score here in the thread.

To put it in your sig thats your a member just add this line to the sig box.

Member of the OCAU 3DMark Team

Remember to close that space I added after the bracket before the word Member...I only did that so i could post it here... It shows this thread with the words OCAU 3DMark Team.

Ok change of plans now guys, there is going to be no list here on the main front page.... From now on you can all input your own scores here and can keep updating them as you keep bettering them All you need to do is make an account by clicking the link at the top of the screen and then its self explanatory.

I hope to see many of you inputting scores there and as a motivation to do it, I have removed all scores from this opening thread. By all means keep posting in this thread your updates, but just so that the scores remain up to date, add them on the page link above....

I hope everyone is OK with this. If you have any comments to make, then just add them at the end of the thread.

Keep tweaking and keep benching my fellow OCAU 3dMarkerers!!!!

But Chainbolt, you are the master of tweaking every last FSB out of your board. Not to mention the fact that you have access to Nanya PC2700 in Japan

I figure we could probably have different types of people with different hardware configs for different categories. That way we can include even those with lower spec systems. Categories should probably be based on DDR VS SDR, Processor speed, and Video Card type. That should keep it nice and simple

sounds like a good idea.. maybe something like

Extreme OCAU 3dMarkers (min 1.4ghz cpu)
DDR (gf2ti/pro/gf3's) & SDR (min gf3ti200)

'Im a few months behind the latest and greatest' OCAU 3dMarkers (min 1.0ghz cpu)
DDR - (gf2mx400/gts) & SDR (gf2 gts/pro)

'My pc is powered by a solar panel on a cloudy day' OCAU 3dMarkers (999mhz and lower)
SDR (gf1/ddr/mx's) (who has a ddr setup that low?)

'A Pack of frozen peas operate better than my cpu on a good day' OCAU 3dMarkers

if it completes 3dMark2k1, and doesnt fit in the above catagories.. it goes in here

damn.. the sleep deprivation has really set in already

I used to have the number one GFDDR & Athlon system under 1GHz...

Sure I could have a crack at it again if I hadn't fubar'd my card...

OK guys, we don't need any GF3, TI or R8500 to join the team. All we need is to tweak & OC our systems as high as we can and try beating the scores of others who have similar rigs. This is a friendly competition and will help us to achieve the best from our current hardwares + softwares

10186 is quite good. what i find interesting about people with high GF3 scores is that my GF2 Ultra with its 5604 score always beats them at High Polygon count 1 and 8 light tests.

Check it out http://gamershq.madonion.com/compare2k1.shtml?2200255

I'd like to join, except that I won't be overclocking my CPU, not until I have money to buy another one if I screw it up, anyways. I will however try to sqeeze every last bit of power out of my GeForce DDR, I think it was Mal who quoted the highest 3DMark2001 score with a GeForce DDR being 4733 (from memory), which is higher than a GeForce 2 Pro/Ti/Ultra (at their default clock speeds, of course ). I doubt I'll get anywhere near that high, but I plan to push my card as fast as it can go.

If my dad ever decides on what he is doing, I should eventually have this setup:

Duron 1Ghz
256Mb SDRAM
GeForce 256 DDR

You said you needed a r8500?

I have

OEM r8500
Tbird 1.4
ABIT Via133A mobo
512Mb cas2
BarracudaIV

If this is useful to you guys I'd love to join. As long as you explain what the hell the competition is! I'll monitor this thread for a couple of days and see if u want me

But a warning. Something in my system seems to HATE non standard bus speeds

If I put Ramsinks on my RAM would using ASepoxy make much of a differece over fag tape? (really?)

its a 3dmark team, basically, all we do is.. go for really high scores, top our 'classes', and stick 'OCAU 3DMark Team' in our benchmark desciption

Great to see the various replies guys!!! You all make me happy....

Please understand you do not need uber PCs to join the team. Just a 3dmark score and some friendly competiveness. Guys with MX cards obviously wont compete with the guys with GF3 so therefore staying in your area will provide better ranking....

Im at Uni atm but will be home laterrrrr. Thanks for such a big response. Im going to brainbuster and think of a way to ientify ourselves in our score details etc....

OCAU 3DMark2001 Team seems the most logical way but if anyone can come up with some various spelling or looks then by all mean post here...

Mal and Cathar I am looking forward to seeing how your rigs come up against the Icrontic boys. I have faith in you both and wont they be surprised when they see some OCAU untries threatening thier positions.....

i think we should ditch the 2001, 1. its a mouthful... 2. it wont just be 3dmark2001 we will be competing in... and what happens when 2k2 comes out? i think OCAU 3dmark team sounds good

It's about time I started pushing the FSB on my SDR box. Count me in too.

Tbird 1333@1466 (133x11) on KT7A
KingMax PC150
GF2 Ti

Might pull out all the PCI cards and the PC133 sticks and see how high I can go on fsb....

I'm game, but who defines these 'classes' and moderates the competition? Is this something on madonion I have missed?

If there is a 1GHz/GF2 GTS category you may start bowing to the ruler.

classes are sort of 100mhz zones (eg. 0-1400, 0-1500, 0-1600)... + ur video card

so when im clocked a 1480 im in the 0-1500 with GF3 Ti 200 class...

As long as i't not restricted to the best of the best, I'll be in.

TBird 1.2 @ 1.35
MSI K7T266 Pro2-RU @ 150FSB
KingMax 2400 RAM @ 150 2-2-2
Leadtek GF2Pro @ 230/480

Haven't submitted a score with this new rig yet, but it's good for about 4800 Marks (3Dmark 2k1 default)
