Exclamation The Official Motorola New V-series (V3, V80, V620, V600, V550, V525, V300) Club

Attention: Need to find some info quickly? For relevant information and external links, please scroll to the bottom of this post.

This Club is for those who demand the ultimate in form and function, the greatest, the 1337-est, most jaw-dropping phones on the planet (atm)! You are among the very few to hold a masterpiece of design in your hands!

Be proud, stand tall, and hold your head up high if you own one of the latest V-series lines of mobile phones from Motorola. All questions, tips, troubleshooting enquiries, and all round V3, V80, V620, V600, V525, V550, V300 discussion should be directed here!

I just got mine one hour ago (02-04-2004)! (I just realised it looks quite decent without the antenna - which is so easily removable too, and the reception seems almost as good... so now Samsungs aren't the only ones without stubby antennas - broad generalisation, so sue me!)

Here are the pics I promised:

Taken at night, my apologies!

The V600 is a great phone, and is defintely recommended over the SE T630/Z600 and various other Bluetooth enabled camera phones. I wasn't a big fan of Motorola due to the crappy UI on their earlier phones but these new phones are pretty easy to use.

I'm a lot more impressed with the V600 than the mediocre 6230 and X70 phones. It looks like Motorola is well and truly back...

Whee, a club I can join

Saw on a site somewhere (still trying to remember the URL) that sells a stubby antenna (5mm tall) for the phone...

If I find it I'll get back to you all

Can anyone tell me how to take off the interchangeable front cover?

It's so damn impossible! It hasn't moved even a bit despite me trying my best to yank it gently (if there's such a thing)?

Am I doing it wrong? The v60i's mechanism was so much easier, a push and release... this one's just... arrggh!!

I was going to walk around Paddy's tomorrow to see if any of those dodge sellers had a few new ones out already.. I'd love a gold one

Right at the very bottom there's 3 slot holes, with the middle one being the longest. I just put my fingernail in there and pulled downwards, and it came off.

Let me know how you go at Paddys. I was there last weekend, and couldn't find any covers or snub nosed antennas

Thanks alot beeker, that does indeed help - but it's STILL surprisingly difficult to remove. It requires heaps of force. I'm very impressed with the build quality! =)

I had that exact same problem. The manual was in German, so that was no help, and I didn't want to break a brand new phone.
Let me know if you have any luck with finding good quality metal covers. I'd be interested in a "private" group buy.
I'll probably be at Paddy's today after 3pm too, so I may see you around.

Um, we really shouldn't be talking about group buys unless it's Agg approved, no matter how "official" we are. =) I'd hazard to say that there are none available in Australia yet. If there are any, it'll be at Paddy's, but trust me, Paddy's ain't as hot as you all think. =)
