Where the hell did that come from. Thought it was a joke at first. Didnt here anything befor about it. Time to download these.

Detonator 40 is the beta graphics driver for all NVIDIA Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). Detonator 40 supports 2D graphics, DirectX 8.1, OpenGL 1.4, nView Desktop Management software version 2.0, NVRotate. NVKeystone, Digital Vibrance Control and includes a new control panel and the CineFX emulator. Through NVIDIA’s Unified Driver Architecture, Detonator software supports all GPUs below in a single driver.

Might wait till someone else tries them.

I just quickly benched the 40.41

Setup: Athlon XP 1651mhz @173fsb with Ti 4400 @300/634

RTCW Checkpiont demo 1600x1200 vsync on no aa/af

30.81 87.8 fps

40.41 108.2 fps

About a 20% increase.

One negative. I lost my 85hz refresh at 1280x960 which I corrected with powerstrip. More tests soon.

This is huge.

Cheers

Dale

Cool

Who needs a new video card when you can just update your video drivers.

nvidia may be getting slow with the chipset releases in its old age but you gotta love the driver support.

When was the last time ATI did something like this?
Oh that's right... they're still busy ironing out all the bugs

They did MORE than fixing the nature bug. I had 70fps before the after the 'fix', and now I am getting 89fps. Before the fix it was like 5x fps.
