The goal was to achieve similar results to "traditional" bong's without the bulk and especially noise that they have.
this is the assembly almost ready to go; ![]() The water enters via the short pipe at far right, and is distributed to all the pipes and overflows out the top of each pipe. Since the water flow is shared among so many pipes, (27) it doesn't exactly gush out, a feeble trickle is as much as any one pipe manages to achieve, this is where the next step comes in; I have used a synthetic chamios, cut up and wrapped around each pipe, this ensures that the water completly surrounds each pipe and also increases the surface area exposed to air (I intended to cover the bottom feed pipes too but ran out of zip ties, job for later) This is an over view of it in action (yes ghetto I know), the 6 8cm fans are low speed panaflows, and are pretty quiet even at 12v. closer look; currently averaging 3 degrees below ambient temp, one day I'll get around to putting all this lot into a case

Like it.
Looks an improvement, especially with the chamois lagging, on my leaky radiator. With the availability of pre-tinned T- juncions, maybe my limited soldering skills could strertch to the construction. |

Nice idea. You have too much spare time on your hands...
How about bunging the whole shebang into a perspex case. You might be able to guide the airflow around the pipes a bit better.

I got hard drawn pipe too which is dearer, but worth it since it's already "straight", and I don't have to root around trying to get soft copper straight, which just ends in pain most of the time. I can get back to my custom fibreglass case now that this appears to work satisfactorally, I won't have it "under glass" since that would be just asking for algae and muck to grow on it, like what eventually happened to my "water fall" case's water feature. And yes hopefully I'll get it all done in time for the next local lan

It may work better with 2 x 120mm fans blowing through it?

That is bloody impressive! How long did it take you to build?

very nice job.
just a thought but for even water flow wouldn't it be better if you put the inlet in the middle of the whole thing? what water block are you using? and if you put water wetter in it there will be no alge |

I don't like adding additives to the water that I'll eventually end up breathing
