Weird GPU Load problem

Hi guys,

Just looking to get some insight on a problem I have with my GPU going to 100% load.

Specs of system below;

2600k @ 4.6
Asrock Z68-extreme4
Sapphire 7970 Reference
16GB ram.

The Problem

GPU clock maxes out and load spikes up to 100% and remains at 100% unless the computer is being used (mouse moving, key pressing etc)

Have tried using 12.3, 12.4, 12.6, 12.7 beta drivers. All present the same problem.

Have tried turning off Aero, same problem.

No applications other than Afterburner running in the background.

The 7970 is at stock clocks also.

Anyone seen something like this before?

Going to try a format and reinstall =(
