Yeah can't understand the backlash againt this. Sure it's expensive but it is the first 1440p 120hz monitor from a major manufacturer. Asus deserve props for that. And for producing something that in the overall scheme of things is pretty niche. Sure you can go buy a Korean monitor for half the price, that might do 120hz if it came out of the factory on a good day, it also might melt it's power brick and good lucky getting warranty...

im sold. dont mind the TN panels. actually prefer TN over IPS. the colour saturations of the last IPS panel were unbearable.

I think the main difference is whether you want 27" or 23" for gaming etc (I myself find 23" better for gaming compared to 27").

The other thing is TN panel vs VA. I have used the eizo for roughly around 2 or 3 weeks, it has been really good and I certainly notice an improvement when I'm watching video from my bed compared to TN panel.
And the black on the eizo is just fantastic.

But then again, this new monitor has tempting resolution at 1440 + 120hz...

Good year for monitor!

Yeah I am leaning toward Eizo as VA = better colors and blacks vs TN and the 'turbo' (backlight strobing) seems better then the rest (keeps brightness up alot more)

If only u lived in Canberra id love a demo lol

No new updates on this? I would seriously consider losing a Creekin* for this monitor, coming from the Dell u3011...

*The term "A Creekin" is a measurement that is very small, usually 2" - 3"

I'll be waiting for reviews before I think of retiring my qnix to side monitor duties.

There's been no official status update posted so to speak, but the ASUS blog page for its been pretty lively in the comments section including a ton of replies from JJ (ASUS employee).
Not much on a release date though, seems like their initial ETA might have been off.. page link below.

PG278Q ROG SWIFT Gaming Monitor - ASUS PCDIY

Sadly, I'm going to have to go with the decent amount of people against the AG coating, from what was prior a seemingly definite buy here. Can't stand them, I was expecting glossy Shall wait and see how it goes but the lure of another G-sync monitor might grab me.

From what I've read it has ULMB (ultra low motion blur) which is basically LightBoost 2.0. BUT you can't use it at the same time as G-Sync, it's one or the other. (source1|source2)

Personally I can't wait for this monitor

yes that is correct, so basically for games like TF2 etc where FPS will always 100% of time be 120, ULMB is the go.

For games like BF4 on ultra where FPS might dip to 80-90fps etc G-sync is the go.
