Hence why you see people unloading 30+ cards in sales forum.

I wouldnt be surprised if those mining edition ones were gpus with failed video out stages or something, its basically free money for them. I cant imagine not adding outputs would save them much money

Don't really see much of the brand these days.

I still have bad memories of my ownership of the Zotac GTX280. Gave up on the brand after the 3rd RMA of the device and purchased an Asus.

Don't think miners would buy these anyway as their resale value to normal consumers would be 0. You can't SLI a 1060 so little else you could do with it besides mine. I don't see the point of using as a Physx card either.

On the other hand I'm seeing a lot of busted 7950, 7970, R9 280-290X cards on ebay, more so than the usual amount I see and I'm on ebay everyday.

Safe to say this can be due to the recent influx of people attempting to mine a bit because of the recent Ethereum hype?

Least efficient cards being sold off perhaps?

Maybe...its a bit of an unusual pattern for about 23 listings (including ones still on ebay) to pop up over the past month and half for artefacting and worn out 7970's and 290's mostly. 3 listings have mentioned the cards was used in mining.

Could just be that they're all going to be a few years old now.

Same here^, who said people are making $200 profits? Not to mention all prices are jacked with all retailers due to lack of sufficient supply for the demand atm.

really the only people i can see if the eth mining etc goes to shit coming out on top are the ones who mined, bought more cards with the coins, and built it up that way.

really at the end of the day if the value of the mined coins turns to shit, you still have the asset of the video cards, which you can sell. this only works if you didn't take out a $50,000 loan to buy a slab of cards
