Default Chrome and Internet explorer Crash and Won't Start. Works in Safe mode.

I thought I would post the solution here for others.

Today I started my PC and usually chrome opens on startup but didn't this time. I got the windows message "Google Chrome has stopped working". I then tried to open Internet Explorer and that wouldn't work either.

All other applications were working fine and I was connected to the internet. At this point I thought I had a virus/malware blocking my internet access. I restarted in safe mode with networking and found chrome working like normal. Now I knew there was something interfering with my browsers.

At the same time, I was googling for a solution and found a solution by Coveycomputers.com . Basically, uninstall AVG anti-virus or McAfee because they were blocking the browsers. Solution link here: https://productforums.google.com/d/m...c/OxA8fiF6PmwJ

I uninstalled AVG, restarted, and here I am posting the solution in chrome!

It's very frustrating to have this problem randomly appear, but glad I found the solution and hopefully others find this helpful too.
