I loved PREY, it had some novel if humble concepts but I certainly wouldn't want to see the same game reheated in the microwave. I love where they are taking this by increasing the scope of the world. Free roam "alien noir"... sounds fucking ace.

Too bad it showed nothing of the actual game, just another flashy trailer with no indication of what the game will really be like.

No local games shops would even think about stocking such an old game either.

Anyone know where you can buy and download online for cheap?

Also noticed on wiki that bethesda bought the rights. Interesting.
I actually got it at EB only a year ago. Original packaging as well.

Stage Demo of in game footage - http://e3.gamespot.com/video/6318738...videos;title;1

Looks really good. Is this the ID Tech5 game engine?

Def one to keep an eye on! Gameplay looks a little more open ended. Could be good if it's excecuted well!!

Cool. I found the original very entertaining thanks to its quite innovative gameplay. Totally underrated game imo.

I hope this one delivers!

it's looking extremely good with this gameplay footage! seems like the awesome kind of open ended game that I love. Seems to be a trend now since borderlands having this mission based, but open world gameplay. Rage will most likely dominate, but still looks quite awesome!

It's using a modified tech4 engine. Something along the lines of quakewars on roids.

Quote:
This lengthy development process also explains Human Head's decision to use the id Tech 4 engine, instead of the updated id Tech 5 version that powers Rage. Bisenius explained that the team had built so much of Prey 2 using id Tech 4 that a switch to the latest technology would be impractical. "We put a lot of time and energy in that, and we really love what it's capable of at this point," Bisenius said, defending his team's use of "heavily modified" id Tech 4. Prey 2 is looking good, whatever engine is under the hood, and Human Head's commitment to building out a dynamic open gameworld is just as promising.

The wiki has all the updated rumours. The game is in limbo really, and I think if/when it does get released, it will look nothing like what was shown in 2011 :-( A bit of a shame as an open world alien bounty hunter game would have been awesome

I have full confidence in Bethesda or whoever the publisher is of turning it into a more linear corridor shooter.

Well... The original prey was announced 9 years before it shipped, so maybe 2020?

Arkane Studios rumored to be the developer so there is a chance.
