My desk was completely different before. I had the original stand on that second monitor which took it all up, I got a Monitor Arm just to get it where ti is.

If (I didn't give a shit, I would of just stuck it fully behind the monitor as it was.

Never question his knowledge, and I am grateful for any help. But I know the best place for the speakers, and they will get there own stands and what not when we get our new place in a year or so, but at the moment, they have to live on my desk.

I also got a subwoofer today, yay..

Yeah, wanted something small, powerful and cheap..

No use getting a Sub half the size of my desk for bookshelfs etc, wanted to keep it all minimal.

Came across the Wharfedale Diamond SW150BAV in reviews, saying for it's money, it cannot be touched. I thought Perfect!!!

Grabbed it today for $400, could of waited for a 40% off JB sale for cheaper but meh.

So, now this is a bit beyind me,,

Dali Zensor 1: 53 - 26,500 Hz

Wharfedale SW-150: Frequency Response 35Hz to 110Hz with a Low Pass filter range 3585Hz (10Hz steps).

So what Crossover do I set in the X7 and what do I put on Subwoofer?

can you adjust the slope of the x-overs? (usually 6db, 12db etc.)

i'd aim for a High Pass Filter (i.e. filters out the sub bass) of ~ 90hz for the Dali's and a Low Pass Filter (i.e. filters out mid bass/treble) of ~ 80hz for the sub

then have a bit of a play to see what sounds good to you

All i can adjust is what hz and below is sent to the subwoofer.

A single adjustment.

Just went to work. Will take screen shots when i get home.

I know i should set crossover to 10Hz above speaker minimum, the issue i have is though, does the small speaker selection in software limit the lower frequency?

Edit: Crossover set to 65Hz.

Testing Subwoofer, it can do 32hz before dropping, so that is below it's specs.

Still not sure on cross over..

Some sites are saying 10 Hz above what speakers can produce, in my case the speakers can do as low as 53 Hz, so around 63Hz is ok.

Then some sites are saying why stress your speakers that much? Let them concentrate on the upper mids/highs. So set them a tad higher. In my case that would probably be around the 80hz mark.

Start your crossover at 80hz. Sound starts to become omnidirectional at this point, which is exactly what you want from a sub. From this point you can adjust accordingly to your personal taste.

The Dali only has a 5" woofer so it's not moving a lot of air. Make sure the sub volume isnt too high either otherwise you will just end up with boomy, over powering bass.

Yeah sounds good at 80Hz..

Question however.

The Sub can go 35Hz - 110Hz, but the switch maxes out at 85Hz.

So basically I have to set the switch to 85Hz and change the Amp settings, and I can never use above 85Hz correct?

all depends on the slope of the x-over, but i'd imagine it's a gentle slope (6db) so rolls off, rather than a complete stop at 85hz

see Figure 8 here - http://sound.whsites.net/articles/fadb.htm
