I had a bottle of Lafite Rothschild 1995 on the weekend. Not your everyday drop!

And to finish off, a Holgate Empress..

Children of Darkness by HopDog Brewery. #40 in this years top 100 craft beers. Sensational.

Last week had a bottle of Chimay Blue Label Grand Reserve. Brewed by Trappist monks no less. Oh my. Words fail me on how nice that beer is. $21 for a 750ml bottle and worth every cent.

When we used to drink 6 of those between a few people in a night - shizz would get sketchy.

I assume you mean Chimay? Yeah it's 9%, I was feeling it after 1 bottle. Funny though, other beers I've had with that much alcohol, you can really taste it and it ruins the beer somewhat. With the Chimay, it's noticeable but seems to enhance the taste. Oh, that beautiful, beautiful flavour ....

A couple of west coast IPA style homebrews. 7ish%. Nice and hoppy. With a pint of Mild homebrew, as a chaser.

I'm drinking Grant Burge Aged Tawny, trying to find a new drop to put in my keg. The Aged Horndale Tawny it came with is way too fruity with too much throat burn, I prefer a more nutty/honey style with a warming effect.....

I'm in love with American Honey Wild Turkey and dry ginger ale at the moment. Obviously not right now, as it's 6-bloody clock in the morning. :-)

The local bottle shop had Unibroue sampler packs on sale, 12 bottles of strong, aley goodness for $20 (which is a bargain, normally one 750ml bottle is $6-7, these are 340ml). Currently drinking the Maudite, a red ale (and the lowest alcohol content of the bunch at 8%, which is probably a good idea with work in the morning, it's Sunday evening here).

A few hours ago I had a man-meal, steak, potatoes, mushroom gravy and a innis and gunn that was aged in irish whiskey barrels. Tasted really good, but at $4 a pop a little pricey for my tastes. Good meal to go with top gear though .
