if he hasnt already done so, he still needs to create an ISO from those vista files he downloaded before making the bootable usb stick, because in that tool, you need to browse directly to the ISO files on your hdd to import it, for it to work properly.

i use that dvd/usb tool for Win 7, but all my Win 7 images are already in ISO format.
