Whoever said "most of Russia" is contaminated has no valid sources to back it up.

Russia never experienced any nuclear accidents.

Perhaps he's talking about technicality. It was USSR at the time. Hence "Russia" never had a nuclear accident?

Mayak was without any doubt Russia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayak

Quote:
In 1957, Mayak was the site of one of the worst nuclear accidents in history when the explosion of a poorly maintained storage tank released 50-100 tonnes of high-level radioactive waste, contaminating a huge territory in the eastern Urals and causing numerous deaths and injuries from radiation poisoning. The Soviet regime kept this accident secret for about 30 years. The event was eventually rated at 6 on the seven-level INES scale, second in severity only to the disasters at Chernobyl in the Ukraine. This rating was, however, made prior to the fall of the Soviet Union, and without an accurate appreciation for the “widespread health and environmental effects”[2] associated with the incident; if reclassified, it would likely also be level 7.

I mean USSR existed between 1922-1991. Both Mayak and Chenobyl accidents happend within those time it was known as USSR, hence it wasn't "Russia" technically. But i'm just guessing. Maybe he really didn't know about those accidents.
