I have spare Alu and Plexi but Alu is much stronger and a bit more forgiving as you can tweak things with a bit of a bend here and there.

Either way I have test fit the Tablet and even with me man handling it a lot there is not even a hint of a scratch, the paint is way softer than the Tablet's plastic and there is padding everywhere that matters.

Anyway, an update. Magnets everywhere.

Cut that scrap bit of 1mm Sheet metal into a strip.

Much filing later

Marking out the Location for the magnets

Magnets, About 50 Macbooks gave there lives for these magnets

And in case that's not enough I have a couple spare

Turns out I did need a few extra (108 extra of the larger size) . 486 magnets in total which is a fair chunk of my stash.

All I need to do is find some screws with really nice chrome heads (hex if possible) so I can attached the metal to the base and then paint it all up.

Half the fun is building it.

You also end up with something that its your need not something generic.

Also these days everything is so poorly built, even with my poor skill and skip finds I can still make something sturdier than the rubbish that comes out of china.

Yeah its on there pretty well, Would not want it to drop off. They also all happen to be pretty powerful Neodymium magnets so they are pretty strong as well.

As with most magnet related things you can slide it off with a bit of force. Never try to pull directly way from the magnet, you will not win.

Nice, looks like you have all bases covered in terms of scratches then

Great work.

Well all done

Just drilled some holes in the Sheet metal, and the stand.

painted and Stained everything.

Screwed everything together with some nice stainless steel torx screws.

All setup

And damn the magnets are strong, I have to literally hammer the bracket up and down.
