some of my controllers/zappers. Notice the two rare Dogbone NES controllers, rare grey Zapper and check out the controller at the top right - notice anything unusual??

its the first console I ever had and really the only one I ever enjoyed (i have a few others)

frankly its not very expensive to collect these days either.

i remember it was $155 from myer with no free game, but some how we conned them into giving us super mario for nothing. i reckon the price sticker is still on the box

I had $159 in my head as the price.


As I recall, Mario was bundled with the console and then they stopped the offer just as we went to buy it. Two sad kids faced with only enough money for the console was enough to convince them to chuck it in for free.

do we still have the box?

dont forget we also have the athletics pad
didnt see that on your list

and the box had a sticker over the part that said u get the free game

i now have a hankering to play that athletics thing, jumping the logs and asuch

It has USB connection! And the cord is also smaller.

custom kit to play MAME with an authentic controller.

re the cord length - i just use an extension because as you say, it is smaller

forgot about the athletics pack. As I recall we also have the box for that

come and pickup a console.

gonna do a couple of NES afternoons in the next few weeks to play all these games with a couple of friends and a couple of beers. Makes me glad that I have a few TV's!

Pasey25: Now THAT's dedication!

Over the last year or so the prices for old NES/SMS games etc has actually gone up. Before a game would go for $2-3 now i've seen them as high as $6. Rip-off

I really should buy a replacement NES cartridge connector on of these days.

now they are a rip off - $20 for a connector? thats criminal. There are ways to refurb your existing connector without having to outlay any cash. I do it on all the consoles I get, as well as disabling the lockout chip to get rid of the blinking and allowing the playing of games from other countries

Maybe i should join, but whats the benefit?

I've got a NES, SNES, N64, GCN, GBA SP, DS - does that qualify? All of them are currently setup and working
