Spare, not really, but this year ive been replacing my rig. The whole thing has been going for 7years, so replaced mobo, ram, cpu and case late ladt year. Psu and gpu now. These will keep me well for another 5 or so which is the only way i can justify it. Ive had the 970 for 1.5yrs and since then ive gone 1440p. This will be the first new release anything ive bought. Even the cpu i waitrd till kabylake droped before i got skylake

Why would you bother paying such a premium for one of those cards when the cost covers watercooling an FE card?

It wouldn't cover the cost of a loop though. Not everyone has a loop ready and waiting for a waterblock. Or wants one..

Perhaps not everyone has a custom loop?

I understood that, more pointing out the fact he went a titan at however much $$ which needed watercooling, but questions people who bought an AIB which isn't much different in reality choice wise.

Personally i looked at it, and the cost then time etc for a custom WC isn't worth it for me. I'd rather just get the AIB

I had the same thought, under $1000 delivered for FE, $400 more seems a lot to me for little extra performance.... less than $200 for AIO for FE. Seems a high price really.

the Strix cards do look nice though

At this point in time I am not interested in water cooling, DIY hybrids and a big fat no to FE cards. The AIB Strix OC meets my needs, and hopefully will have one installed in my pc this Friday
