Default battery apps - kill apps

hey guys, i tried looking but can't find anything. Does anyone know of any good apps to stop / kill apps from running instead of shutting down.

Like in the andriod you can download an app that you can see what apps are running and you can stop them.

Does apple have this type of app out there???

thanks guys.

isn't it just double click the home button and then press and hold the app you want to close and a close icon comes up?
