Default Fibre - 62.5um MMF q's

So like an idiot I didn't pay attention when we had some renovations and replace our old 62.5/125 SC MMF (50meters) patches between floors. I've just realised I'll need to get 3 more SC-F/LC-M adapters to get all our new equipment running using the old cables when I replace a very old switch, so I'm looking at the cost to have someone pull the old cables out and run some new ones.

Q's -
1) Is it really worth it? Would I be fine with the adapters?
2) If I get 50um, whats the easiest way to run 10G over the two cables?
3) Anything else I should know?

Thanks guys

Contractor coming to pull 50um through where we have 62.5 now - labour price much less than I thought. Just going to buy some GBICs and have two gbit connections for now.

Biggest thing that matters is your distance.

If your only going 5-10 metres with 62.5 then you should be fine with 10G, it is however rated for ~30m but as with all optical specifications there is fat in that number and allows for optics to degrade over time.

Your already looking at going 50um just confirm which specification it is that your putting in.

this has a few tables from aquick google it is missing OM5 thou which you should probably put in

The cables are all surprisingly cheap, so I'm just going to get OM5 anyway (oops, OM4 apparently). I don't think I can afford any of the 10G options over fibre on my budget, so it'll just be two 1G links for now
