Thats what im getting at. Its kinda near vital to their marketing campaign. They cant say either is read to ship until they are all ready to ship you know what I mean?

Every person not buying a Kaby lake/Z270 or Pascal because they are waiting for what AMD's parts will do is a win for AMD though and is exactly the point of these 'teasers'

i,ll wait and as for the 480 it was 2x 480,s would beat a 180 and in a lot of cases it did but since they dropped the price of the 180 to 900 odd for some models that's sort of veered off a bit.

as for the hbm2 look at what 4 gig of hbm1 did...4k gaming and only just started to struggle(i know i did it )
imagine what 8 gig of hbm2 can handle...

i,m also stalling for ryzen as well so i can ditch this intel setup as well...was considering grabbing a7700k but why bother honestly.

anyway i am hoping within the next 2 months both setups will be released and i can afford it

price wise...who knows hbm2 and dev costs will probably drive the price up like it did with the fury but i,m hoping not.

Wasn't the RX480 supposed to beat 1080 for the price of a 1070, or something like that?

It was aimed at the 970/980, which it did/has done very well.

I seem to remember the hype before launch saying:

"the RX480 supposed to beat 1080 for the price of a 1070" or something like that

Tarot cleared it up (2x480> 1080)

From what I've read and the vids I've watched my opinion is: fury and vega are their test card which will progress to all out on navi, I don't think vega will be faster than a titan xp but will give the 1080 a run for its money.

Thats ok but 1080 has been out for a while now so it wont offer anything new then, it will depend on the price too. Interest in 1080 is already falling (used sales are slow with low bids, on here and ebay) so another 1080 equivalent in 2+ months time might be hard to sell unless its cheap.

Link to said report please?

We've seen it at least running doom competitively against the 1080

Just wait for benchmarks. All based off of nothing.

sad when that guy actually is giving up on it.

still say if they price it right...not like the fury x...and it is the same performance as a 1080 and the power draw isn't bad then it has a chance.

without any real metrics to go on it is a complete crap shoot.

we can see the 1080's dropping in price now and second hand hey you can get one for less than 800 all day...so if this card has any chance at all it has to drop in at that level or lower which i really doubt it will with all the new tech and dev costs.

won't stop me though my next system is ryzen and vega full stop regardless.

also as a side note what i think is amd really need vulkan to make huge uptake with games....crap dx 11 games just destroy it because they are simply old clunky model t fords....we need more tesla games
