I'm at the point where I'm so sick of waiting for an announcement I might just jump to team green now, depending on the 1080ti announcement.

Well it just got announced and unless you want to pay $1300-$1400 for a card, youll be waiting a while for prices to drop back to reality.

1080ti is supposed to be 600 USD which = 783 AUD....so why will we be ripped off here?

Price of 1080 should be 640 AUD now after NVidia just dropped it's price but you reckon we will see those prices.....FAT CHANCE FFS

Since its the Vega thread, I couldn't care about the price drop of Nvidia's current card. In Australia, we never see parity with overseas prices due to distances in shipping, taxes and even margins. Likewise, I wouldn't expect a Vega card to drop in Australia for the RRP but with what I've seen of the RX480, if anybody can do it, AMD can.

One other thing, Vega is a high end / enthusiasts card. While speculating is interesting, the only pertinent fact AMD has presented is the RX 4XX series cards were not released for the "high-end" market.

Until we get Benchmarks, we don't know what AMD's new flagship card will do. Certainly not going to be distracted by Nvidia lowering the price on a card I was never interested in

+Conversion fee's
+Shipping to supplier
+Stocking @ supplier
+ Markup After the above have been costed to unit

And given when ordering, your getting in a bunch @ a time - subject to whatever conversion rate @ that time + fees

http://wccftech.com/amd-reportedly-l...es-april-vega/

why refresh...oh well see what happens but bodes well for an early release of the Vega.

if the refresh manages to come in under the current pricing scheme meaning ditch the entire 4 series line instead of price cuts...that would be good.
and that is the way i see it since i have seen the odd 1070 floating around for 499 and that is a superior card to the 480x so the new one needs to come in at $400 odd.

as for the 1080ti...funny...looking at the launch site...2x faster than a gtx 980 in the division dx 12 whoopdie friggen do my fury x is within 5 fps at 4k of a 1080.
plus all the NVidia lemmings are being ripped off again...toned down titanxp for 1200 vs 1600 odd if i bought a titanxp i would be pissed.
now if this is true

http://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-d...080-ti-pascal/

it might make it a bit of a nightmare...but again..why did they wait..more money grubbing holding back performance why do people buy into this crap

hey i,m not saying it won't be good value may even come in at 1000/1100 and if it does i would be even more pissed the 1070 will drop as will the 1080...maybe $800 i can't see the 1060 dropping much though.

in the big scheme of things it is competition and all the better for us...unless you shilled out 1800 for an XP

oh and EK just announced the titanxp blocks will directly fit the 1080ti....need i say more
its the 9xx series all over again

So roughly between 1070 and 1080 after all this time, am I missing something or is this just another epic AMD fail?
thats the early VEGA though. After this time it ended up 10-15% better then the 1080 at 4K. They are still working with the engineers atm so we dont know if they even improved this further still.

Can only hope. At least it wont be $1200 USD.

Correct i would expect this to be the same prices as when the 1080 was here in AU on release/currently. So $1100- $1250.
