Does anyone know if the 1900X is still dual Ryzen dies with half the cores disabled?

Or is it a zingle Ryzen die? I would guess the former?

I think it has to be two dies to facilitate the extra memory channels.

So the question is then can you have a full 8core die with just the memory controller working on the other die or do you have to have a 4/4 split between the dies?

Im really hoping it will be the first as it means no escape from the NUMA/UMA issues and would easily make me get the 1900x and stay on x399 for Zen2

ATM i really want to go a 1950x so hopefully in the coming weeks we will see patches to fix games dealing with NUMA

So what are you going to get now? Kaby-x or skylake-x?
I guess that is always an issue when your cores are glued together

You do not lose half your cores. The switches are simply NUMA to UMA, and SMT On or OFF. And they're independent of each other.

A trend you notice amongst review sites is most if not all say they will be using TR as their main editing/workhorse machine. GamersNexus made a video on how they are utilising their TR.

Another block for Threadripper from XSPC.

Coverage looks pretty good although I prefer metal threads.

movie
This is what threadripper is for, work. Encoding, compressing, editing, rendering. Lots of people do this stuff. How many youtubers are there, how many 3d artists are there. A graphic design house doing commercial stuff.

Hence why we need more reviews focus on this. I still haven't seen a single Threadripper review that actually looks in detail at rendering, encoding, editing. Running one filter, codec or one function in Premier is not all editing, rendering one scene in blender is not all Rendering.

Issues with NUMA are well known, jesus, it feels like we have just woken up to 2004.
