yup, i reckon you need to post up some photos of your opened enclosures with unbroken tabs as proof. had a crack at one last night. broken 5 out the 12(?) tabs. and i'm usually good at this stuff. oh well, 3 more tries left. interestingly, there seems to be quite a lot of foil-like tape all around the drive. didn't see a lot of that on the various posts on the interwebs. |

i got 2 of mine open without breaking the, just warm the dam things up first so the plastic is softer and less likely to snap.

success!! well, sort of. i broke five tabs, then three, then two. and on the final one.....

it helps if you know where the tabs are. also found it easier to start at the rear corner where the connectors are. push the case inwards and then use a steel ruler to pry it along one side, then the rear, then the other side. |
