Any idea of the likelihood of US retailers dropping their prices below $1000 even by $50 or so? Is there anyway really to get around it, I've heard you can get them to label it as a gift?

Shops, especially big dealers, bugger-all chance. Individual Ebay dealers are usually more receptive, but you may also need to take a corresponding hit on the insured value. The guy in Japan who shipped my Thunderbird knocked $100 off the declared price for me to sneak under the limit.

Enjoying the quick turnaround? Can you tell I'm at work on a weekend knocking out a dull paper?

I am actually can you tell I'm meant to be studying for exams?

I might have to hit up my the local shops and see how much they're going to slog me for said guitar but I'm not anticipating anything special.

hey people... if u buy a new guitar.. will the shop usually set up the guitar for you? ie like lower the action for u.. that kind of stuff... im still a beginner so i dont know any of this stuff.
