Why didn't you quote the part where he said it was better for power users? Convenient that...

News sites citing reddit as a source... What a wonderful world we live in. .

I would like the anonymous unverified UX designer from reddit is legit, but, because he doesn't mention the windows store. (which is only available on Metro, and of which MS get a 30% cut on sales through) as a driver behind hoisting Metro on people... I'm not sure.

Power users aren't users?

Same here, we started rolling out Windows 7 in Pilot sites in 2009 and as of 31 December 2013, we have 80% of sites running Windows 7. The other 20% are still running Windows XP and we aren't scheduled to complete them all till the end of this year (possibly longer if there's unforeseen problems).

I don't doubt it. Of the 8 people I know who use Windows 8 on a day-to-day basis, 7 of them use the Start menu mod that adds back the start button and menu.

They made a very large distinction between 'regular' users and 'power' users. You're doing nothing but trying to rag on Windows 8 without actually having some constructive criticism or valid points.

The majority of users are not power users.

Reading the article, I thought that the long term plan was to make the OS better for power users and that windows 8 was the necessary step to offload the simple users to metro. I didn't see anything that said "windows 8 is better for power users".

Neither do I. Some people just argue for the sake of it ; )

So true, but I fear most Windows users are not savy enough to know that, and MS should have known that many of them become hysteric about the smallest changes.

Maybe reflective of the success of Win8. Soon the better as far as I'm concerned.
