Wifey doesn't understand the Amiga thing, but she still finds interesting stuff sometimes

The Gotek mounting bracket. They should have made the display pop out imo, but a great idea.

I totally hate how OCAU deals with images. Frak it.

OMG! My A600 is dead

Black screen with the caps light on. Removed all expansions, still the same, a little reading indicates it's the caps

On a a600 most of the caps are surface mount, its a bit harder then through hole caps. I did one a few months ago that I bought off ebay as broken.

Someone had tried to do it before selling it off on ebay and a few of the pads were missing from where they pulled the caps off, be careful not to do that or it makes it a lot more work.

I have no intention of trying to fix this myself.

If the larger capacitors do not appear to be damaged, domed or leaking, it might be the power supply. Do you have a spare to test?

If not, I have found that the floppy disc drive power connector is the safest place to test with a multimeter. Assuming you have already been running the machine with a suspect power supply that is. If I recall rightly the power supply should not be run without being plugged into an Amiga, mine was very unhappy about it and I would not do that to it again.
