you arent going to kill anything (not at these clocks anyway), it'll just refuse to boot.

if you just OC further via multiplier (rather than bclk) you wont increase the memspeed at all, so it should be a non-issue.

4ghz should be do-able on stock/auto volts btw... if anything were to die, it probably would have happened fairly soon regardless (general hardware failure)

edit: i have 3 of my benching rigs here setup at work but am rather ill atm, struggling to even do what little work i have atm let alone anything more..
will get a result up later in the week (2600k & i5-760 most likely).

Hmmm overclocked the RAM a little and only shaved off 2 seconds...

Any idea how far my RAM can be pushed?

I feel this large weight otherwise known as uni work piling up on my shoulders. At this rate my first chance to make a decent submission will be late may.

No need to rush the submits, I'm sure the entire team will have a crack at this in there own time.

This current g.skill memory I have isn't very tweakable so i'm going to throw in my OCZ Platinum kit on the weekend and give this a crack.

cmon guys, dont let your platform hold you back,

thats the beauty of a low clock challenge, if a particular platform cant reach a frequency, we can lower the target for that platform 3.6ghz for example..

just holla if you cant reach a target

alrighty, have a "base run" at the bclk and memspeed i want, now to just tweak the ram timings and maxmem etc.
for (mainly my own) reference my maxmem was set to 600. this is the same OS install i used in the z77 comp (if the background didnt give that away already ); winxp sp3.

1.36v probably way too much vcore for this speed, nfi, never ran SB this slow before not like it will hurt it anyway
edit: though, "more vcore=faster score", right

Was looking forward to submitting for this, it should be no secret as to how much I love and obsess over 32m. Booted up my 1366 rig and it's dropped a channel that I can't get back. Real pity, hopefully its the cpu, which is easily replaced.

Forgoing that, I'll be playing with Ivy soon and will put up some results from that. Hopefully others do the same to make things interesting.

I have a spare X58 board if you want to borrow it?

Waiting for ivy to be available in Perth stores is painful

Yeah dude, I might take you up on that if you're willing. Did have an EX58-Extreme spare but sold that to an interstate friend a little while back. Will be good to see what's broken and move on from there.

Emails from netplus say they have them in stock over the counter, $389 for the 3770k though.

Awesome man, let me know what a good way of doing it is and I'll make sure a 6 pack is in it for you (coke if you're not over 18 lol, I can't remember if you were )

Wish I could say the same for myself, but I will jump at it for a first chip. Then start fishing around for a deal if I don't (and I probably won't) get a good chip at first.

Tried reseating the cpu ? also try loosening off the cpu cooler slightly and just swapping sticks around, always works eventuly
