But they are only pickup in Perth, otherwise there are a few there that I would be all over.

Is there a market for old/vintage/retro hard drives, say 6gig up to 40 gig?
Maybe some older ones in the megabyte range? All working. Unused for the last 10 years.

Wondering if its worth zeroing them and selling, vs hitting them with a hammer and tossing in the recycle bin.

6-40gb, probably not much. Only a few $ each. Might need to wait another 10 years.
In the megabyte range, much more so. Especially the earlier ones such as sub 100MB drives. MFM 5.25" drives are worth a small fortune now, up to $100 each for working ones.

Thanks. Only after about $5 each. I had one of those 5.25 double height drives many many years ago. Working too. Was 10 megabytes. Probably would have cost thousands new. Just checked the shed to see If I still had it in an old machine. Nope, I must have thrown it out.

I have a 200 Megabyte Maxtor drive and a an 85meg Conner in the standard 3.5 inch size. Not sure if they work though. Might have to test them in my 386.

Cheap K6-3+ processors ($18 AUD or so posted).

Listed as collection only, but most work according to other forums.

Hi, I've been cleaning my cupboards the last couple of days. Is there a retro gear sales section here or does it go in to the For Sale - PC section? Am I allowed to link my sale thread in this thread?

Thanks!

Just the PC section, and if they're bargains, can't see the harm in posting a link in here.

Cool, thanks!

I reckon I found a K6-2 (350mhz?) last night at the bottom of a tub, a few bent pins though. A 486 (DX2?) as well. In any case, I'll keep your retronauts in mind when I audit my stuff.

I think the issue is unless it has on-board video which I doubt it does not have a video card
