Looks like you can switch back and forth on demand between the original game and the remake. Shows just how much effort went into keeping the engine identical while the graphics and audio was updated.

Playing some Dragon's Curse today, forgot how tedious the Mouse Man section is.

I don't mind that bit. I find Hawk-Man a bit more annoying due to how weak he is compared to characters you had leading up to that point.

If you use the "WE5T 0NE" save code, you can select Lion-Man and go straight to the last boss via a secret door. The battle lasts about 60 seconds with Lion-Man's strength and attack arc, and the end credits are yours.

Compare that same battle with Hawk-Man, and it's hella tedious.

Only works for SMS version though, Im playing the TurboGrafx.

For some reason if you get the extra heart chests out of sequence they are empty, you have to backtrack and get them one by one.

Metal Jesus has a great Let's Play up with the devs.

From the video, I can't believe they did this - what a labour of love, I hope it lives up to expectations.

Video does a great job of showing how true to the original Omar is making this, and his background. He wrote an amazing SMS emulator called MEKA previously (named after the first boss in Dragon's Trap), and as the video says he's got a huge personal collection of 8-bit Sega games. I don't think you could find a more qualified person to handle a project like this than him.
