P4 / Athlon XP and newer Windows XP. Anything before that Windows 98?

Without some sort of restriction, there's not much of a "challenge" aspect.

If everyone would just prefer a more open retro benchmark results thread then I'd be down for that.

Intel P4 Prescott 3.0 @ 3.75 @ 1.5v
ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe
2 x 512MB Kingston Hyper-X 3-4-4-8 DDR500 @ 2.85v
Gainward 6800GT @ 375/1100
Win 98 SE w/unofficial SP3
81.98 Geforce drivers
Stock cooling

Gonna try and push the CPU and GPU a little more, might have to invest in a beefier CPU cooler and better PSU though. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the result

Haha, indeed.

The idea to see how far a 98 system could be pushed started due to playing around win nglide and unreal in 3dfx mode. I found it required a much faster CPU than a typical 98 box would have, which led to a P4 3.0 build, then an A8V/3500+ and on from there.

I would be interested to see some Geforce 2-4 benchmarks, maybe throw in the older mix of S3, ATi Rage and maybe a Voodoo benchmark.

Here's another one of my old systems - had a Radeon 9800 Pro and a Barton 2800+ on an Abit NF7

I don't have any screenshots, but they weren't good.... I think like 6000?

That was with minimum image quality so it was a blurry mess, turning quality up with drop the score by nearly half.

I remember it also took about 6 months after I got it, before they released a driver that enabled pixel shaders in Morrowind - but made FPS drop below 10 when any water was on screen...
