Unhappy Trouble Finding Toshiba Satellite Drivers

I have a Toshiba Satellite C55D-B I reloaded Windows on (I installed Win7 x64) I ran Windows update and it found most the drivers. I have three it did not find that are not listed on the manufacturer's website: Ethernet, Wifi, & USB 3.0 controller.

I tried running AIDA64 and it shows the chipset is AMD Avalon, AMD K16.3 but I can not find drivers for those chipset(s) either. Can anyone guide me in the right direction please?

looking at the support site it looks like a bulk of the drivers are under 8.1/10 64bit. have you downloaded one of these and looked at the readme to see if they can be used in win 7?

you could also look at the Hardware ID's for the devices with the missing drivers from device manager and google them. that is usually a good way to find what your missing.

Weird, I skipped from 7 to 10 and still saw no drivers, I double checked now that you said 8.1 showed the drivers and 10 is now showing the drivers. I am trying them right now, I am sure they will work with 7 (usually always do, if not the installer the driver cabs work).

If you get desperate you can always try an app called driver genius pro which has saved me a few times with tricky to find drivers.

I am about ready to, they worked except for the AMD USB 3.0 controller drivers, I can not get them to work from any source. It may be bundled in a chipset package, but no luck. Everything functions fine, except the USB 3.0 ports are dead.

No luck, Windows does not find a driver in the extracted files. I ran the Catalyst software anyway and it did install, but no driver.

Look for yourself and see here is the ID I used (first one):
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7814&SUBSYS_F91B1179&REV_11

Here are all the others that follow it:
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7814&SUBSYS_F91B1179
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7814&CC_0C0330
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7814&CC_0C03

quick googling found that HP uses the same one

AMD USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver

that should have the files that work.

You would think so, I tried this one before it starts to install then says windows found driver software but encountered an error. The system cannot find the file specified.

Thumbs up

I went and tried to force install the catalyst for the link you sent me from HP the way I did with Xenon's link and it worked!

The 3.0 drivers were listed in the catalyst installer but they were not in the installer from Xenon. Weird.

3.0 ports work now! Thank you
