Default Stop cat sleeping under my chair?

So my cat loves sleeping between the wheels of my chair when Im at the computer. This results in me running over his tail/feet multiple times a week.

I'm really worried I'm going to break his arm by accident one day.

Any ideas? He doesn't seem to learn even though the wheels pull chunks of his hair out each time.

Lift the cat up and put it on your lap whilst you work.

For the cat.. you and your chair is like a safe zone and resting in that space I guess gives it comfort. So just lift it out of that zone and put it somewhere safer?

keep a water bottle near you every time he goes under - squirt.

he'll figure it out, mind you I thought the rolling over him would - it makes me sad though because all he's really doing is trying to be near you.

Make him a bed next to your feet? Just a compact cardboard box he pushes up against the sides of when he is in it, reinforced with tape externally. He will get in there himself when you find and place the correct box to his liking there. It might take a few goes. He is a cat, so he is picky.

If you show him the box, put him in the box, he will reject the box. Cats are funny like that. He needs to find it himself and then get in the box like he is very clever for having thought of it himself.

Be ready to get more boxes, new fresh boxes, every now and then. Suddenly the box he commandeered will no longer be to his liking and heavens forbid he keeps using that old thing. He's a box polygamist, you know. (Aren't we all in our hearts?! )

Alternatively, write a series of post it notes to place on the bottom bezel of your monitor and on your keyboard etc. CAT CAT CAT CAT CAT CAT CAT CAT. You get the gist.

Alternatively, to the alternative, just remember to look down and shove him out of the way with your foot before you push back to get up for a snack.

I feel very clever today

Yeah I got a second chair and put it next to me and he sleeps there. Though he still sneaks up behind the chair half the time.

He is small enough I can put him on my lap but he usually ends up chasing the mouse cord and driving me nuts lol. He is pretty cute though I tolerate it.

I'll try the water bottle.

My cat loves to sit beside me and stare, then he gets up and paws at my arm - just wants pats - he does quite like it when his scratching post/cat house thing is beside me. He just sits on that. Lap is a favourite too - but tends to climb up on the desk and lie between the screen and keyboard.

Oh I edited my response but you have lightning fingers

Also, spray some kind of lemon scented room spray in the vicinity. Citrus is not a thing they like

Cat Trap Box on your desk to contain kitty could help!

my cat just wants to be close to me when I work so she rubs her face against my bare legs. also in that hazard zone of me rolling the chair back and crushing her tail/limbs

now I just get in the habit to check, make sure she isn't under the chair before I shove backwards

I literally put the box down and he got in 3 seconds later...

Why did I not think of this before.

forget catnip, cats love boxes more than anything. That box is massive though, cats love a good challenge.

build a "skirt" around the chair so he can't sleep there or get run over

cable tie some cotton balls to the legs and soak them in lavender oil, most cats hate the smell of lavender.

I seriously considered doing this. If he gets bored with the box I will.
