it is pretty strange that it runs through the Install OK, with a bit of luck something weird happened during your last install that won't repeat itself this time

windows 10 I assume , using latest ISO from microsoft?

Well at least that makes more sense

If you're on the 'far nth side' of bris, you're welcome to drop in and plug stuff into this tomahawk before you go back so you know for sure. It's just sitting naked on the wkbench at the moment, as i'm testing the X370

Thanks for the offer mate! But Im down in Coomera. Im hoping they will let me exchange at southport even tho I purchased them at 8 mile plains..They gave me the huge run aound today saying items were in stock over the phone when they weren't, even letting me pay for them before pickup, only telling me when I arrived that they didnt have them and they were in 8 mile..

I couldnt see any corsair single sticks on the list of supported ram.

damn, that is far away. Hopefully GC store comes to the party, it's not like they're a franchise so don't see why not.

out of curiosity, why did you go single stick? Single channel is pretty debilitating performance wise

I went single because I had not actually prepared for the upgrade. Had to buy a new fridge and new tyres so when my pc died on me I was scraping the funds together. I went with the single 8 gig that was the same as the 2 x 8's in the 16gb kit that was supported with the intention of just getting another asap. It was either the i5 with 16 gigs or the 1700 for one..So far I can not find one stocked item that is on the support list

Looks like I may have resolved it. Bios was auto downclocking the ram. Turned that off, set it to its native 2400 and it seems to be running fine now, 2 hours, all drivers updated, no crashes at all.

Still going to take the ram back and exchange for something on the list...Little things, like short hangs when opening folders, typing, opening search etc are frustrating, as my 2500k was more snappy.

New ram has not fixed the remaining issues..Short hangs and freezes, long boot up, non responsive keyboard whilst typing. I have not yet tried to run a game..Ill do so shortly and see what happens

*frustration central*

When this happens to me. I'll go back to basic's then. Out of the case on a mb box. Swap out every part I can & find the culprit. A fresh install too, assume though you are limited to Win10 on that gear?

Ram swapped didnt help. Reaseated the cpu, pulled out all drives and tried to reboot. Updated all drivers. 3 reinstalls of windows..IM not get any crashes....just micro freezes..Programs stop responding, stuff like that. LIke the desktop will freeze but I can keep moving the mouse cursor.

COuld it be windows not working with the new hardware?

Then there's the early adopter penalty. I don't know man......
It can still be one thing in your system that has not been tested for Ryzen.

They will go for the bulk of it for compatibility before release.
______

Bios settings. Never rule them out. Spread spectrum " x5 " in the 775 board I'm benching & the cpu one was reeking havoc unstable.

Get looking online " early I know " look to see what other have found
