Not another thread on Eve.

Anyway yeah I am around. Current member of STK Scientific, which has been around since Beta and has alot of Australian members. My character is Persia. Say hello sometime and I'll try and help out with some cash and gear. I'm relatively young in terms of character age, but I've learnt a few tricks here and there..

Edit: Forgot to mention, STK is recruiting atm. Free ships, free skills, heaps of friendly peeps, and a founding member of the XETIC alliance. We operate out of 0.0 space in the Impass area, and Yuzier in Empire. For more info hassle me, or wander over to the STK Scientific website.

Edit2: You get my little present the other day Judge Kovacs?

Hey Mattah,

I applied the other day, but I heard STK hireing from a friend who knows morlock. Hopefully will be successful.

See you guys in Eve.

Toppy.

PS: Character name Toppy amazing, yes?

I joined a corp called United Miners, the recruiter was just trawling newbie systems for mining fodder. I said sure, I'll help out in some mining ops if you can guarantee my safety. I'll mine away for a while until I can afford my Omen, then go and join a real corp

Well for a start you don't kill things to level. Levelling is done constantly, whether you're online or not.

And secondly, click the search button and find some previous threads about this game, and you'll find plenty of info.

virtvirt:

You don't buy the game, it can be downloaded from
HERE , but you have to pay a monthly fee to play, about $US19.....
Look for a free intro period, I downloaded mine from, i think it was file planet and it had a 7 day play free period, I think the normal offer is 3 days free.....

Warning It's VERY addictive......now i'm back to minning

Just for anyone curious, this game kicks arse. You can mine, trade, run protection, kill, intelligence or courier missions, join a corporation, become a pirate. Lots and lots of choice.

At the moment I'm levelling my social skills so as to get better missions from Fleet agents; once thats done I'll be levelling the skills that determine your characteristics - while this takes a while, it means ultimately that I'll learn everything else faster.

Once thats done, I'll be improving all my Frigate piloting and Gunnery skills for the harder agent kill missions .

Dcunneen, if you're ever bored online, give us a hoy: My nick's Bruja, currently part of VersaTech corporation. I'm currently running missions for the Republic Fleet from Pator. Me, Jotun (my little brother) and Sleyha are all aussies in VersaTech - atm levelling in the hopes of eventually forming a combat/interceptor squadron composed entirely of Aussies.

Those people looking for an MMORPG that they can beat by throwing time at it will be disappointed with Eve, in that you can only get better over time. Some of the higher level skills can take absolutely aaages. To get to fly an Interceptor, for instance, you will be waiting at least a month just to get the skills. Me? I'm about a weeks training away .. (almost there! ).

Any of you guys want to join an old established corp. with a good reputation and a solid position in 0.0 space feel free to give me a call. As probably has already been mentioned, I'm with STK Scientific, a predominantly Australian corp with a very strong financial and industrial base - we are a member of the XETIC/IF (also known as XIF) alliance.

The cost mentioned by Sabot is wrong, it's $14.95US a month, which works out to be about $20AUD a month.

Hmmmm I'm tempted to reactivate my account. The only other similar game I play is Star Wars Galaxies which is a game that requires more time then Eve (atleast with Eve I could login for 5mins each morning and set skills to learn even if I wasn't able to properly play the game during that week)

Hmmmm but do I have the time to play 2 online games?

More time needed to play than Eve?

Setting a new skill to train before leaving for work in the morning is a ritual.

Well I cant login to Star Wars Galaxies for 5mins every morning to set skills to learn while I work. You have to sit there and play SWG to increase your skills

downloading now, somebody help me i have no idea what to do, can i play it like i played freelancer, i played in this constant aussie server for quite a while, made a bucket load and was completely and utterly addicted,.

I worked the trade routes with my frigate and even hired personal wingmen that i paid weekly to escort me through certain zones. What i touched on in that 64 player server was that a mmorpg like freelancer would be awesome. I became a trade juggernaught and at one time there were 5 or 6 players out to get me, and they caught up with me and threatened to kill me unless i gave em a few million each, i refused so they killed me which cost me heaps because of the amount of cargo i had, but from then on i bought myself some friends and outfitted them with titans and it was just awesome, i thought if freelancer was a mmorpg it would be soooooo damn good, is eve very much like it, or better?

I havent played Freelancer so I cant give you specific comparisons but what you described you can do in Eve.

There are so many profession types, you decide what you want to do totally.

But don't expect to dominate the market by yourself or anything like that. You are very much a small cog in a big wheel in Eve.
