Default R.I.P Thread

Family dog will be put down tomorow, his cancer has now become too advanced.

He's around 8ish (edit: seems he was closer to 12, my how time gets away) I guess, and well and truly part of the family. Left home a few years ago now but still...

So anyway, small tribute.

sympathies to all, you might like this..
Just this side of heaven is a place called rainbow bridge.
when an animal dies that has especially close to someone here, that pet goes to rainbow bridge.
there are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
there is pleny of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
all the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor:those who were hurt or maimed
are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
the animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to
them, who had to be left behind.

they all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
his bright eyes are intent;his eager body quivers.
suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

you have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion,
never to be parted again. the happy kisses rain upon your face;your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent
from your heart.

then together you cross rainbow bridge...

Took me a couple of weeks to get over my cat passing (snake bite) and that's part of the reason I haven't got another pet since.

RIP Digger (1/5/1993-12/4/2006)

That photo's of him about a month before he died. He died when my brother was driving his new car slowly around the backyard (showing off to a mate), and he ran in front of one of the wheels, and they didn't see him. We took him to the vets, but it was too late.

We haven't replaced him, and we don't intend to. I miss him, but I guess he at least went quickly, and wasn't a slow, painful death.

Hey guys,

Yesterday at around lunch time my beloved family dog was put to sleep from prostate cancer that did damage to his bladder and bowle (rough spelling).

We had 11yrs of joy with him and now may he (Benjamin) rest in peace.
