Yeah, I very much like their candid approach to development, rather than the hush-hush approach that other MMO devs go for.

Going by the looks of things, this looks more PvP orientated, with PvE as a minor option.

This is going the opposite direction as opposed to WoW (in which WoW is more PvE orientated with PvP placed on). It may get some WoW PvPers and a loyal base from other MMORPGs, but I doubt it'll take over.

Have you watched all the podcasts? They discuss PvE a little.

It's not enforced PvP, there's heaps of PvE allowing play from beginning to end, but I get the impression the PvP is where the real meat is.

The whole reason I didn't enjoy WoW PvP was it seemed pointless in the grand scheme of things, whereas these guys seem to have nailed it.

Haven't really read about it, but if you kill someone can you take their equipment? If not then who cares about PvP.

That would be seriously cool PvP, but it would put too many people off PvP as they might lose their uber gear.

I always wanted duelling where you could offer up an item or gold or something to fight someone or a group perhaps.

Some other good videos.

The character morphing as they get more powerful and the skulls/trophies that you can add to your armour sounds really interesting.

This never stopped the people in Diablo 2 on B.net duelling with their hardcore characters.

I'm looking forward to this ever since I heard about its development.

I love the podcasts, how down to earth is that, they know what gamers want and they'll tell you exactly what the game and what is hasn't. Good stuff.

and that my friend, is why UO:T2A was king supreme. dieing in that game actually meant you lost everything on your body. made gaming so much more fun because there was more risk than losing 5% XP. the best memories i have of that game are from getting looted and looting other people.

The best fun I've ever had gaming was from a text based game strangely enough. Kill someone, and if your quick enough to loot their body you get their gear. Mobs that held the best gear had a respawn time of 15 mins to 2 hours and the gear loaded at a random percentage. 10v10 fights ect were so much fun.

Looks good. Although after looking at the trailers, it looks almost identical to WoW. So ummm, yeh not sure what's going to really set it apart.

Losing items can really make a PVP experience. EQ1 had a PVP server that let you take one item when you killed somebody, that was the most fun I ever had in a MMO, coz it really stung when someone ganked you.

Me and a friend had a lowby ganking duo (mage and pally) and we would walk around semi nekkid trying to equip ourselves off twinked characters, was hilarious.

It did not work in the high end game however, as ppl were so concerned with losing items that nobody would PVP, and PKers were hunted down by the general population. It could have worked if there was some kind of reason to PVP, such as defending and taking territory etc.
