I put all correct info in, the fact that I've beta tested quite a few games before probably helped.

I don't know if I can tell you how big the download is, but I won't know what the game is like until tomorrow

Good stuff I had 8 beta tests on my record, 4 of them closed. Maybe my specs aren't up to scratch. Oh well, there is always next phase.

well just out of curiosity what beta tests did people put down?

From what I remember I put:

Warhawk PS3
Fury
Quake Wars: Enemy Territory
Lotr: Online, Beta test & Stress Test
World In Conflict

I think thats it, I mean none of them were hard to get into. Most were give away keys. But I'm finding it hard to actually get into a beta for a game like this.
Do you guys who might have tested games like WoW have any previous experience, or just got lucky.

I can't remember what I put down, but I had about 10 games listed from memory, plus there's a few I couldn't remember.

System specs: Radeon 1950XTX running at 1920x1200, dual core 6400 CPU, 2 gigs of ram etc.

Other MMO or MMO style games played included UO, Everquest, Eve, Granado Espada, D&D Online, Asheron's Call 1&2, and WoW + expansion, plus some others I forget, some of which I beta tested.

WAR is still in fairly early beta which is why they aren't dishing out invites like mad. They're also being very strict with information leaking, people are pulled from the beta very quickly for saying too much, which is why there isn't much info.

The key with getting into betas is to a) not just play the game, but report stuff, communicate with the devs and get known. b) get into beta tests the more testing you've done, the more likely you are to get into another test. Apply for lots of betas. c) have either an "average" system, or something unusual, like an odd sound/video card or odd operating system etc. Having the latest and greatest, fastest, most powerful computer often works against you.
Most of all being worthwhile to the devs is what works best. Some beta testers get jobs this way as official play/game testers, but you don't want that, trust me. Especially if you enjoy playing games.

Being a real/official/fulltime beta tester isn't that much fun, I mean getting a free sneak preview at a game is awesome and all, but to be worthy of your beta spot you need to work it, find exploits and bugs, submit useful suggestions etc. Knowing how to communicate those suggestions in an intelligent, detailed and logical way is also very important. From what I've read of the beta forums, there were a few people in the test who find exploits and bugs, then just exploit the hell out of them just for fun (and to annoy/frustrate other people) - that kind of shit doesn't belong in a beta.

Oh one more thing.

A lot of the time beta testing isn't fun. You're "playing" an incomplete, buggy, un-optomised, unbalanced game. There are times you can see through this and get on with the testing, but other times it can destroy the gaming experience for you. So don't feel too left out, the game that ships should be very different to the game that's being tested.

Unless it's Tribes 2, and the devs ignore every single beta ticket you submit so that the game in the box is virtually the same as the beta you tested, making it unplayable for most people
Not bitter, really.
