I've got a question for people playing on C-Aion servers, whats the lag like? The beta was pretty bad, I didn't notice so much as a warrior/templar but a couple of mates played a sorcerer and assassin and there was noticable casting lag and getting behind mobs was an issue.

I realise a lot of it is probably the two beta servers being overloaded but just curious what its like on retail.

Awesome dude!
When you pre order does that give you access to closed beta?

Has been discussed many times in this thread

Short answer: yes.

Long answer: depends where you buy it. From the NCsoft online store then they'll add the game to your account instantly. From your local EB etc probably not as they don't keep keys in stock and it can take quite some time to get it.

If you played recently you would have noticed its not so much grind any more. I went from C grade to A grade in a few weeks (double exp + exp booster drops)
The game required skill and alot of luck (drops). Required playing the market

Maybe im just trying to explain this to yet another WoW fanboi
WoW fanboi... not so much, just a player (great game, shit players, impossible to play the market... not counting the 'buy one item, turn to 10 lesser items, sell for 20% more, idiocy)

EVE fanboi, definitely. :P

the luck (drops) part, pretty much equates to grinding still.

apart from that to me it seemed like a slightly polished version of any of the countless other trash mmo's on the market.

not to mention i played it way way before i ever had a look in to WoW...

Haha ohh eve huh! good good

Glad to hear WoW wasnt your first mmo gotta love reading comments like 'THEY COPIED WOW' *smacks forehead*

yes it does equate to grinding, but thats what it was to begin with.
This did mean the more time you spent 'grinding' the better you were (gear wise). When catacombs were released the grind still existed but you were partying up getting huge exp and a valuable resource (blue red or green fragments).

Personally i prefer grinding to meaningless quests.
I preferd the highly textured and detailed armor to low polygon count / armor that was detailed by uni students.

I see bits of Lineage2 throughout this game, it is looking good.
The grind was horrid when classes peaked before the next chronicle release, it wasn't so bad once the weapons and content caught up - and you never will beat the open PvP it offered, it was always fun.

Definitely pre-ordering through NC over the next week.

The no rotating while casting is a massive pain in the ass but the lag on the beta realms is fine. You can't actually see your ping but regardless it's very playable. I daresay better than WoW is atm.

The lag they are talking about is probably the hidden GCD that everyone is claiming as a "bug".

Ive been following this thread for a few days, and i'm getting interested in this game. For the type of MMO it is, is it closer to WoW or Warhammer? NC says its a PvPvE game so does that mean in between WoW or Warhammer so to speak?

Reason i'm asking is because i'm more of a PvE kinda person than PvP

Hey all

Just pre-ordered my copy off NCsoft.com
$59.95US (72$AUD) for the collectors edition. Dont even bother going to EB games and paying $120AUD for it.

Next weekend closed beta event cannot wait!

Anyone know if you pre-order, do you automatically receive the bonus items in game or do you get extra codes that you activate ingame/onsite?
