A little bit confused guys. I created my square enix account. and ive been to http://entry.ffxiv.com/eu/index.html
I cant find anywhere to sign up for the key though. Are applications close due to the delay in beta opening?

Starting on Sep. 2, 2010 at 02:00 (GMT), acquisition of registration code required for FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test will become available.
Seems like the codes will be available at the same time it is meant to start.

Alright hopefully soon . Can I download it in the mean time? Need to hurry up and put a pre-order down.

Yes you can start to d/l the beta. If you have problems with slow download speeds of the beta you may have to port forward your router.

i signed up last night to the SE website, and all it told me was that the open beta's not ready. Some error with the client.

Beta codes were not available either.

Guess i'll try later tonight.

I started downloading the client today at about 10am still going but at 97% for 2010.08.30 file, but had made my SE account weeks ago and have been trying on and off to login into the account and the open beta link since 1pm, and the few times I have gotten in I've received a maintenence message

Still cant get a beta key. Ive been looking forward to this too.

For anyone finding the downloads slow through the updater you can go into

C:\Users\[Username]\My Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV\downloads\ffxiv-beta\d96437e6\metainfo

There you will find the torrent files for the updates which you can download with a torrent client of your choice (uTorrent of course ).

Once finished put the downloaded files into

C:\Users\[Username]\My Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV\downloads\ffxiv-beta\d96437e6\patch

and then run the application. It will find the files and install them.

I hope this helps someone.
