loaded up "the secret world" to check, and there was a 10mb patch, and also a 500mb patch.

10mb, 14mb, 9.48mb,10.8mb, after finished patching and re opened the game again.

7.17mb, after closing and re opening again.

i funnelled my data through a VPN and my connection's roughly 400kb/s. Woo.... still looks like it'll be well into Saturday before i get to play

EDIT: its normal not to connect on the first try. (takes like 10+ tries for me to log on)

kept crashing in the loading character screen..

EDIT:Game play is similar to ABP.

EDiT3: would not be surprised if it went free to play after a few months.

Couldn't get past the intro. After playing tera which is so smooth and flowing combat in this feels fucking AWEFULL. Controls felt clunky and i was just tab mash 1 tab mash 1 again

Agree.

Have cancelled pre order. Love the concept and was really hoping this game would rock, but same as Conan, I just don't like the game engine. Character animations are poor, the weapons have no feel and it just feels clunky. If they had maybe used an established engine like hero or something it might of worked but for me, it feels mushy.

Such a shame because the concept is awesome and something that I'm interested in. If it was a f2p title I would probably explore it more, but as a subscription based game, no.

Oh and FYI, i just tried to cancel my account and was refused. They said since I played the beta I'm now committed to purchasing (WTF?). I explained that I used the free open beta key from gamespot to try the beta, not my pre order and they tell me they have no way to tell on their end which key I used?!

Such a crappy company and I knew this from my Conan experience so I guess its all my fault eh Funcom...

This was what did it for me the most.
In tera when my fireblast hits (its a long chanel super high dmg move) you hear a massive thud and you just get the feel that yep, i just did something awesome. Even basic fireballs have a strong feel to them.

Shooting the shotgun it was nothing, no shotgun style sound, no feel just nothing getting you into the 'yeah im blasting zombies with a shotgun' frame of mind.

i didn't mind it so far.. but i can't loot anything which is weird.. yet everyone else can steal my loot... makes it a little annoying lol

ps i don't mind p2p but i just don't see why they all have to be 15 bucks...

EDIT ah restart fixed the loot issue.. not minding it, but yeaht he attacking does feela bit bland, but i gotta admit i was thoroughly un-impressed with tera... secret world has intrigued me much more already... least it has some story or something newish...

they built to much hype! liked the concept, but it feels to generic, its similar to ABP. also they should really implement a level system, makes it easier to distinguish between the pros and noobs. they should also have the auto attack, i find it annoying clicking/smashing the skills.

i don't think it's worthy enough to be a subscription based mmo.

the melee weapons feel a lot better than the pistol/rifles.

but there is a distinct lack of immersion and polish. I dont see it ready for a June release.

But if they play it by the schedule it'll probably be another 6 months to a year before they iron out the problems

The controls feel "clunky" on kb+mouse. Might play better with a gamepad.

Its a Failcom game its to be expected to be crap . Look at Age of Conan , played the beta , then it launched , no improvement at all , got worse . And just didn't listen to the players .

Cant see any social interaction going on. I see people running around doing their own thing but i cant see how to group up or form a party or if anyone can even see my messages.

Tried to recruit some people but nobody responded to any messages

I started healing a player having trouble with a boss type but then i couldnt figure out how to communicate with him to kite so i can top him up. He stood there taking the full damage so he died and then i ran.

Cant figure out how to craft weapons/armor.

No guild interface?

This is why i wanted to test the game before subscribing to another Failcom game.
