Yeah I have a very clear memory of this 'feature' of the game I had where the shop keeper said something along the lines of 'I let you rob me in the last version' or 'You can't rob me in the shareware version!'. I am fairly confident it was a shareware title because my parents never purchased full version games for me as a kid :S

I'm trying to remember a game, think it was a crappy shareware/freeware game that came on a floppy with other crappy games.

It was a top down maze game, i think it was set in a power plant, you had to get to the middle of the maze to stop a meltdown, then back out again. When you pressed the cursor keys your dude would keep going in that direction and you couldn't stop him. If you touched the walls you lost health.

Can anyone remember an educational game that featured some spelling games, and other learning mini-games? Would've been Win95 era.

The main thing that stands out from the game was that one of the mini games was an electrical circuit game. Tiled blocks form the circuit and you had to swap out the problem block to make it work. e.g. there would be a wooden or glass block you had to replace.

Was just reading this thread, and 7 years on I still have no idea of that C64 title.

Can anyone think of any C64 game with red and blue spaceships you had to fight? It still bugs me, like sand in your speedos.

The first thing that popped into my mind was Wizard of Wor for some reason, but that's not spaceships. More detail?

Nope. What I can remember clearly is the mix of first, and third person views. Wasn't in the Galaga/Invaders style, definitely moving sprites. Though it wasn't Elite either, you had that switching of viewpoints.

Was in 90-92 if that helps, on a 1542II disk.

I think I know the one you're referring to - are you in a cockpit and every time you moved it made a fluttering noise and large objects would come at you at high speed while you had to fly backwards to get the time and angle to shoot at them?

EDIT: Encounter was the one I was thinking of.

It was both, it would change when you flew out of the world. It was side-scrolling when you were on the "surface" then cockpit in orbit.
